This is a truly rare find. This is an original vintage Sorna manufactured in Switzerland with one of the coolest and useful complication: a mechanical alarm. The movement is the Ronda 1223-21, 17 jewels adn 21600A/h is the high-end version of the Ronda 1223 caliber, The watch comes with a new steel mesh diver strap. The watch is in excellent working conditions, including the alarm function. The alarm mechanism mainly consists of a mainspring, whose one end is fixed on the dial plate. By turning the alarm crown clockwise, this spring is wound; by turning counter-clockwise, the alarm time is set counter-clockwise. On the selected time, the alarm disc falls down a little bit and releases the finger, which previously blocked the alarm hammer. The collaboration between Sorna and Ronda is a Piece of Swiss Watchmaking History. The Ronda story begins in the Waldenburg Valley in Switzerland’s Canton Basel-Land over 70 years ago. What started off as a small and modest rural enterprise has developed over the decades into a family concern that now employs about 1500 personnel worldwide. They introduce and invented trailblazing in 1929 so that they could punch 32 holes cleanly, precisely, and simultaneously into a pillar-plate. Ronda was producing movements for many brands including Oris and Brac.
