Icono (1) - Madera - Alrededor de 1900

This ancient icon on a wooden panel was made and painted in Russia in the late 19th century. The painting depicts the Virgin Mary, who lovingly supports the Child Jesus with one arm. The image features metal details (perhaps silver) applied to the Virgin’s and Jesus’ crowns and their hands. The icon shows slight abrasions in two spots. Slight restoration work is left to the taste and discretion of the new owner.
