Annibale de Lotto was an Italian sculptor who lived between 1877 and 1932. Most of his works were celebratory pieces and portraits.
Here we see a half-naked young fisherman covered only by a cloth on his hips, intent on observing his right foot bitten by a crab placed at the base.
The artwork is a replica dating back to the first half of the 20th century (around 1950).
It is in excellent condition and has a beautiful dark patina that enhances the anatomical rendering and the elegant plasticity of the child's twisting movement.
The artist’s signature is engraved on the bottom.
