Very rare honour goblet of the Austrian Air Force from the interwar period.
Inscription ‘Unserem Fluglehrer gewidmet Gruppe Bruck’ and ‘Argentor Wien I.G’.
At that time, Austria's air force only been in existence for 12 years. After the annexation, parts of Bruck’s group came to Spain to join the Condor Legion.
These goblets are very, very rare. Only a very small quantity was produced in the 12 years.
In 1927, the Home Defence Flying Corps was established with Austrian-, British- and German-made aircraft (disbanded in 1938 after the annexation). Its symbol was a red, white and red flag, in the middle of which was a white eagle on a green circle.
In 1928, the Austrian Armed Forces began to secretly train pilots.
In 1938, after the annexation, the air force was taken over by the German Wehrmacht and large parts of the Condor Legion were assigned to the Spanish campaign.
