Adriaan Marinus Geijp (1855-1926) - Schaapsherder met kudde

Adriaan Marinus Geijp was born on 22nd November 1855 in Middelburg. He died on 9 November 1926 in The Hague.
The painter André Geijp grew up in Middelburg. The largest educational institution there was the drawing academy. Since 1778, many hundreds of pupils have been educated there. This academy has played an important role in the life of the Geijp family.
He was active in Middelburg as a decorative painter and took drawing lessons there. Around 1880, he settled in The Hague and subsequently dedicated himself to painting. He formed himself and preferred painting winter landscapes, forest views and landscapes with cattle.

The piece is in good condition, the frame has some signs of use but these are not disruptive.
