Douglas Gordon is one of the most important contemporary artists. He was awarded the prestigious Turner Prize in 1996 and participated internationally in numerous solo and group exhibitions, among others at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), New York, documenta 14, Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt am Main.
The artist is a conjurer of collective memory and perceptual surprise, whose tools include everyday objects and mechanisms of daily life. In his diverse work, which includes videos and films, sound, photographic objects and texts as site-specific installations as well as printed media, he incorporates a combination of humour and distress to recalibrate the reactions to the familiar.
The image has a minimal, barely perceptible kink at the upper left corner (see fig.), but is otherwise in excellent condition.
Have fun bidding on this wonderful artwork!
