A Ceratages Trilobite of the order Lichida, discovered in Oufatene, Morocco.
It dates from the Devonian Period, 360 million years old.
The eyes are on long stalks, as it probably lay in the mud on the sea floor with just its eyes protruding in order to catch prey, and protect itself from possible predators.
The huge array of spines is typical of this species of trilobite, and are very evident in this specimen. In addition it has the secondary spines within the body, which is rare.
it is a superb display fossil, prepared to the highest quality, using air abrasion techniques.
