A stunning silver box, finely decorated with niello; the lid depicts a family with a dog in a wood. The other four sides of the box are decorated with a geometric motif.
The inside is decorated in vermeil.
The hallmarks are partially corroded, I suppose it is a superb mid-19th century French item.

The four sides and the bottom are perforated, probably due to wear. The item is in overall fair condition considering its age.
