Rare and unusual table lamp bedside lamp 1970s designed by Ferdinando Cassetta for TACMAN.
The Tucan lamp has an Empoli Opaline Glass body, Black plastic feet and Bright orange plastic beak.
The beak can be moved upwards and downwards but, is somewhat exhausted and crawls downwards.
In 1970 Fernando Cassetta decided to apply for a patent for six lamp models (2 dogs, 1 penguin, 1 bear, 1 mouse and this tucan).
Then he went to a glass factory in Empoli where he had 1220 opaline glass bodies made.
In Pastrengo he met the Manara brothers of Tacman Manara, suppliers of plastic parts.
During that time they wanted to expand their activities and agreed with Ferdinando Cassetta that he would deliver the opaline bodices and that they, in return for producing the moulds, were given the opportunity to bring the lamps on the market.
Very Good Vintage condition with some Wear, The Beak is exhausted, The Photo's are part of the description of the condition.
