A beautiful antique cheese knife, made in France ca. 1900. An exceptionally fine design with a beautifully crafted silver handle on a wooden core with stylized flower decoration encompassing a blank cartouche.
This elegant knife would have been used at the end of dinners to cut and serve cheese or small pastry that was served as dessert.
Made in France ca. 1910, hallmarked with Minerva head (1st grade- .950 fineness) and unidentified partial hallmark (probably master silversmith). The metal blade also has a partial signature: ...tondu.
21,5 cm long
Overall good condition with wear and small imperfections consistent with age and oxidation on the blade. A beautiful collector's piece or an elegant addition to any dinner table.
