Large rare and wonderful tooth and ancestor of the extinct large tooth shark; Carcharocles megalodon. This tooth comes from the region around Boujdour in Western Sahara of Morocco. Teeth from the Priabonian are rare in Morocco. I myself have visited this area a few years ago. These teeth are found in quarries in the interior (see photo). The teeth are located in loose sand (rock) and are usually damaged and worn. This tooth is beautiful in quality. Unfortunately the tip is damaged and that is probably due to the diet of this shark. Beautiful colour and serration. The tooth has a large size of 8 cm.
