Head of Medusa - Late 20th Century - Italy
In Greek mythology, Medusa is one of the three Gorgons; she would immediately turn to stone those who gazed into her eyes.
She had living venomous Snakes in place of hair, and was beheaded by the Greek hero Perseus.
The Head, made of Wax has a plaster core.
