In new condition a beautiful 100% linen tablecloth with 4 napkins by the Dutch designer Christien Meindersma.
The bowl of Christien Meindersma in the last photo is for decoration.
These tablecloths are made exclusively from the 2010 harvest in limited edition.
In March of 2010, farmer Gert Jan van Dongen sowed flaxseed in Flevoland. The seeds grew to become plants, and these were harvested at the end of the summer of 2010.
Christien Meindersma purchased the flax and had it processed in Belgium and Hungary, and lastly woven in the Dutch Textile Museum. The linen has labels indicating in which country
the flax has been harvested, scutched, flayed, spun, put on the chain, woven and sewn. A different label lists the name of the farmer and the plot number (plot GZ 59 - west).
The pattern in the linen is an aerial photo of the plot. The napkins depicted flaxseed, flax flower, flax plant and a field of flax.
