Hendrik Weegewijs (1875-1964) - heidelandschap met vrouw en boerderijtje

Dimensions: 40 x 60 cm and the dimensions with the frame are 55 x 74 cm.

HENDRIK WEEGEWIJS was born on 7th January 1875 in Nieuwer-Amstel (Amstelveen) and died on 15th May 1964 in Soest. He lived and worked in Buiksloot, Edam, Volendam, Assen, Blaricum, Laren (nh), Eemnes, Hilversum, Naarden and Soest. Hendrik Weegewijs was a pupil of the Tekenschool voor Kunstambachten (Amsterdam), the Kunstnijverheidsschool Quellinus (Amsterdam) and the Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten (Amsterdam). He painted, etched and watercoloured landscapes, still lifes and townscapes. His work is exhibited at the Singer Museum in Laren (NH).

Hendrik Weegewijs of pupil of August Allebé, Carel Lodewijk Dake, Ferdinand Leenhoff and Nicolaas van der Waay. He was Willy Bleys' teacher.
