American photographer Greg Gilbert (born 1946) started to work as a news photographer in 1967. In 1967, he was hired by the Seattle Times, where at 21 he was the youngest photographer on staff. Since then he has contributed countless photographs for the largest newspaper of the state. In 1970, he was named "photographer of the year" for West Coast Region of the National Press Photographers Association. He was a Pulitzer finalist, along with other Seattle Times photographers, for coverage of the WTO riots in 1999.
