Corneille - Guillaume Cornelis van Beverloo (3 July 1922-5 – 2010 September 2010), better known by his pseudonym Corneille, was a Dutch artist. Corneille was born in Liège, Belgium, although his parents were Dutch and moved back to the Netherlands when he was 12. He studied art at the Academie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. He was one of the founders of the REFLEX movement in 1948 and in 1949 he was also one of the founders of the COBRA movement, which had a major influence on Scandinavian art. He was active from the beginning within the group, not only painting but also poetry in the magazine Cobra. Corneille was also co-founder of the Experimental Group in the Netherlands.
This lot consists of a series of 12 lithographs. A rare collection, especially since it is completely complete!
Each lithograph represents a Dutch province. All lithographs have the same edition number (185//200) and are signed.
