Restoration: No restoration, except the usual little repairs on exoskeleton's and matrix's cracks, provoked by extraction. All specimens in their original position in the rock, as found on the mountain.
Very frequently, preparators destroy one specimen to completely prepare the adjacent one. No trilobites were destroyed on this plate and even the incomplete ones were left.
The final display is full of dynamism, a mortality scene that joins three (3) Cyphaspis walteri, with no preferential orientation. "Movement" and three-dimensionality on a Devonian sea in this astonishing piece of art.
Besides the fantastic display, the specimens reveal a quite good preparation in general, showing magnificent details, as spines, cephalic tubercles and the expressive "DEVIL HORNS" present.
Dimensions: The biggest Cyphaspis walteri (for comparison): 3,5 (including thoracic spine) x 2,3 cm; Matrix: 11,3 x 8,7 cm.
Finding locality: Jbel Mrakib, Anti-Atlas Mountains, Morocco.
Taxonomy:
Species: Cyphaspis walteri; Family: Odontopleuridae; Order: Odontopleurida; Class: Trilobita.
