Antique Japanese unokubi-zukuri koto tanto. The blade was forged in the Muromachi period 1333-1573 and signed, but the signature is difficult to read. The blade has good old polish and shows fine scratches, "itame hada", "gunome/midare" hamon with a lot of activity and clearly visible "nie" and "nioi" (crystal), deep temper in the point (kissaki), "ubo nakago" (not shortened). There are no chips or cracks, no bend in the blade and the cutting edge is very sharp, guaranteed no "hagire". Length nagasa (cutting edge): 24.5 cm, "motogasane": 0.6 cm, "motohaba": 2.5 cm, sori: 0 cm, total length in shirasaya: 41 cm.
