Japanese Samurai Sword Katana Nobutaka NBTHK Hozon
A truly beautiful Japanese Samurai sword by the famous Houki kami Nobutaka.
A shinto grade of the first order Wazamono sharpness Jyo Jyo quality.
Truly a powerful sword with an old Japanese polish.
This katana dates from the Kanbun Edo period and was smithed in Owari, Japan.
Nobutaka was a 2nd generation swordsmith and mostly made Katana and Tachi swords.
This is a sharp blade with an elegant shape, and highly functional.
The Hammon is niedeki, nioikuchi is deep with a soft notate and ashi.
A beautiful Sori (curvature) and a long Kissaki, characteristic of swords from this period.
The deep black Koshirae is a joy to behold as is the tsuba, also dating from the Edo period.
The fuchi and Kashira really make an impression, very fine palownia inlaid in gold with beautiful details.
Literally the crowning glory of this beautiful item.
I can rightfully recommend it, a must for a connoisseur.
